Ron Donovan is a 21st-century Renaissance man—a man of exceptional knowledge, style, substance and integrity. He is the founder and creator of Ron Donovan Footwear & Accessories, a successful entrepreneur, personal coach, motivational speaker, and writer. Originally from South Carolina, he has lived in New York City for over two decades. He says it was a perfect example of “necessity being the mother of invention” when he began focusing on shoemaking—because of his inability to find stylish high-quality footwear for his size 15 ½ feet. Realizing that his frustration was shared by many, he became passionate about filling this void: And so he created Ron Donovan Footware & Accessories.
"Basically, Chloé, for years, because of my large feet, I was relegated to wearing black and brown shoes. And once I started making my own shoes, I discovered color again—vibrancy. My style is typically a black or grey suit, and I will always have some type of color." He showed me a deep purple shoe and said, "and it's usually my shoes. A lot of my corporate guys are thrown off by colors until they know how to add just a pop to their style." Ron turned again, took out another pair and said, with the pride of an accomplished boy, "this is one of my favorites, Chloé—this olive-colored shoe."
