In the summer, our bodies crave lighter meals and cooler drinks. Summer brings a plethora of vibrant, colorful and juicy items of produce to help us stay energized and hydrated. Salads are an amazing way to get a lot of what our bodies need during this season. Nevertheless, salads are what you make them, so if you are eating to boost energy, stay hydrated and perhaps shed a few pounds. You may want to be more conscious of how you are making that “healthy” salad.

 

Most people think that if they just throw some lettuce in a bowl with a few tomatoes, carrots and cucumbers, along with some sort of dressing, they have made a “healthy salad.” Think again my friend.
