At some point in time, we all may have been guilty of giving up our power. We’ve allowed the opinions of others to validate how we feel about ourselves. In hindsight, it was not a good thing. We are so influenced by the perceived norms of society that we often cave to the trend. Sometimes the trend goes against what resides within us. We see things differently, we interpret things differently, we understand things differently.
This reminds me of Noah, in the Bible. Talk about owning your own power! Can you imagine how he must have felt, day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year? He was a lone star. It would have been understandable to us if he succumbed to the naysaying voices around him, to the ridicule. He could have easily listened to everyone around him telling him that what he was doing was crazy. Yet he had enough faith in his Higher Power and enough resolve within himself—to press forward, stay focused, and maintain his power.
