When deciding what I should write about this month, the word G-R-A-T-I-T-U-D-E seemed to appear everywhere: in films, in conversation, emails, meditative prayer—always posted in places that my eyes would surely see it. This is the dynamism of synchronicity, a reminder that one year will soon be a memory and the next will be a new beginning. It is apropos to be thankful to witness another year full of gratitude. The word gratitude is derived from the Latin word gratia, which means “grace,” “graciousness,” or “gratefulness.” Gratitude can also be defined as a thankful appreciation for what an individual receives, whether tangible or intangible. Gratitude comes from within, in that special place where your heart and soul meet.
